“Throughout my professional career, I’ve been completely dedicated to Health Promotion and Disease Prevention, first as a researcher and then as a clinician. After completing a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology at The College of William and Mary and a Master's Degree in Sociology at Virginia Commonwealth University, I worked as a Project Coordinator at the Health Services Research Center at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

My interest in Energy Medicine was actually sparked at age 13 when I heard my mother’s friend declare that he helped people "feel life-force energy in their bodies." To accomplish this goal myself, I studied Tai Chi and Qigong with Taoist Master Mantak Chia, who certified me as a Healing Tao instructor in 1989. By 1990, I moved to Santa Fe to teach Medical Qigong at Southwest Acupuncture College. While there, I completed a 4 year degree in Oriental Medicine. I’ve enjoyed practicing Acupuncture since 1994 in Chapel Hill, NC, and now in Crozet, near Charlottesville, VA. Since 2005, I’ve integrated BodyTalk into my practice. My patients and I are delighted at how efficacious it is in treating mental and emotional as well as physical challenges.

In addition to Taoist meditation, Tai Chi, and Qigong, I have an extensive background in Tibetan Buddhist meditation. In 2009, as I was completing advanced training in Shamanism, my teacher Hank Wesselman encouraged me to add Shamanic Journeying to the weekends and weekly practices I had been leading. Since then, I’ve been happy to offer this unique blend, which has been well received by patients and students.
